Christmas in London is beautiful. Every street you walk down is lit up with the colourful features of Christmas. From last minute shopping trips or visiting winter wonderland, each activity is unique in itself.
Winter wonderland, located in Hyde Park has everything from rides to food stalls and lights.
Want to visit somewhere a little quieter, there are Christmas markets dotted all around London. Some of my suggestions include Southbank Centre’s Winter festival includes food stalls, shows, lights, comedy shows and a New Year’s Eve party to celebrate the end of 2022.
Covent Garden Christmas Markets, Leicester Square and Kings Cross also have pop up stalls with unique gift ideas, sweet treats and hot drinks to keep you warm during the cold temperatures.
After visiting Covent Garden’s Christmas Markets, I can tell you that it is a key tourist destination, the streets were packed full of people with so much entertainment from street performers. With lots to choose from there was quite a few gift stalls in the centre of the market along with high end fashion stores and pop ups.
Winter wonderland was an extraordinary experience, from market stalls to rides and attractions, there is something for all ages to enjoy. With various food and drink options, you could enjoy the amazing scenery of the lights in Hyde Park whilst enjoying a treat of your choice. From the decorations to the atmosphere, it truly felt like Christmas. With one week until Christmas, everyone’s pushing to get in.

The ice rink was stunning with lots of faces enjoying their moments on the rink, along with many adults making the most of the ice bar. Being the capital of the UK, many people have come to winter wonderland in London from all over the country and even from other places in the world.
Although we did face a few problems including the tube station being closed after leaving so it was a distance to the next one, and it was quite pricey. Not only was it difficult to book the ice rink due to it being fully booked, but the prices were crazy, most rides were a minimum of 3 token but roughly 5 (£1 per token). If you do intend to visit, I suggest prepping to spend quite a bit of money.
Christmas in London is unlike anything I’ve witnessed before, everything is amplified and on a much larger scale. London goes all out for the holiday season, with massively decorated trees in both Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square, lights hanging off of every building you see, and the Christmas spirit is felt throughout the whole city.
So if you’ve got the chance to come to London to experience the Christmas activities it has to offer, I suggest you do, it’s not an experience you want to miss out on.
